Bed and Chair Raisers are moulded plastic blocks that sit under the legs of a bed or chair to lift the furniture and shorten the distance a person has to lower themselves into or push themselves up from. Each leg sits in its own block, so nothing is fixed to the furniture and a set can be fitted in a few minutes. They are available in two heights, 4 cm and 10 cm, and the blocks stack, so intermediate heights can be made up where a particular seat or mattress height is needed. The high-strength plastic construction carries a safe working load of 250 kg. A separate non-slip rubber mat is available for use under the blocks on smooth floors. The raisers suit beds, armchairs and other furniture that stands on legs.

A seat or mattress that sits too low is one of the most common reasons people need help with transfers, and a few centimetres of extra height often removes that need altogether.
