The Homecraft Hi-Lo Scoop Plate is an adaptive scooped dish for people whose mobility, dexterity or strength makes it difficult to collect food onto a utensil. The rim is deliberately uneven: one side sits low at about 1.3 cm so a fork or spoon can slide straight in, then rises to a vertical wall of about 3.8 cm on the opposite side, giving food a firm edge to be pushed against so it can be loaded without twisting or angling the hand. The plate is moulded from unbreakable, scratch-resistant plastic, with a rubber coating along the base that helps stop it sliding around during use. It can be turned in any direction to suit the person eating, and it is latex free, dishwasher safe and microwave safe.

Getting food onto the utensil is often the most tiring part of a meal, and the built-up wall takes on that work instead of the wrist. Because the dish can be rotated to whichever orientation feels natural, it suits either hand, and the coated base holds it steady on the table without the need for separate matting.
