The BetterLiving Non-Slip Outdoor Mat is a hardwearing entrance mat intended to help reduce the risk of falls around the home. It measures 58 cm by 88 cm and combines a raised polypropylene loop pile surface with a nitrile rubber backing. The raised pile scrapes dirt and grit from footwear and captures and holds up to 5.4 litres of water per square metre, so less moisture is carried indoors. Ultra grip cleats on the backing hold the mat in position on wet or dry surfaces, and the backing itself is skid resistant and resistant to oil and grease. A low profile, tapered anti-trip border helps the mat lie flat against the floor, and the raised pattern resists flattening under repeated use. This makes the mat suited to high traffic entrances, walkways and ramps, and it may be used on all floor types.

An outdoor threshold is where water and grit are most likely to be carried inside, and this mat addresses both at the door rather than after the fact. The gripping cleats and tapered border mean it stays where it is placed and lies flat underfoot, so it does not introduce a hazard of its own. Maintenance asks very little, since sweeping, vacuuming or hosing is enough.
